Shortcuts

Shortcuts is a board game that encourages kids to use their estimation skills, especially as it pertains to determining the diagonal length of a right triangle. The game created a need to know for the students to learn the Pythagorean Theorem. I co-designed Shortcuts with an Institute of Play Learning Designer and a 7th grade math teacher at New York City public school, Quest to Learn. Kids played the game in their 7th grade Code Worlds (math) class. I designed the experience of gameplay as well as the visual design of the game.
